Our inaugural Summer Festival in January 2019 was probably the best week we’ve ever had on Lord Howe Island. Headlined by our favourite Australian musician (and multiple ARIA Award winner), Jeff Lang, and supported by our great friend and amazing chef, Tom Kime, the festival was everything we’d dreamt about for years. Luckily, we also hosted top-shelf travel writer, Katrina Lobley, who ate Tom’s ‘street food’ canapes and listened to Jeff’s ‘disturbed folk’ songs side-by-side with our guests, staff and local friends. To set the context for how lucky we were to have Jeff playing to 80 of us, we reminded the crowd that he’d recently played to about 60,000 people at a festival in Sydney – such is the quality of his live performances. Katrina’s review of the festival was published in the Weekend Australian Magazine, and I’ve read it at least five times to help me pretend that I’m re-living the week again. Have a read and see what you think! Sadly, the 2020 Summer Festival is already sold out, so we’ve just released dates for our inaugural Spring Festival in October 2019. Thanks Katrina!
