In the subtropics, you’ll spend more time outside than inside, and the lodge is designed to encourage this. We have sheltered decks dotted around our Kentia gardens for some quiet time with your book, we have social spaces to have a drink and chat, and we have sunny lawns for the kids to play. We also have a large organic market garden where you can relax with a cup of tea, a back paddock with friendly cows, and a waterfront boatshed and deck overlooking the Lord Howe Island lagoon.
The boatshed is a special place. You can visit before breakfast for a yoga class, then during the day for a swim in the lagoon, and again in the evening for a sunset drink and awesome views of Mt Gower and Mt Lidgbird. Some guests spend days at the boatshed without venturing too far beyond – and that’s a great holiday.
All of our rooms and cottages are located away from the main lodge, with access via hardwood boardwalks and paved pathways. The main lodge has our restaurant, BBQ deck, bar, pool room, and lounge with comfy couches, magazines, newspapers and a library with over 300 books – you’ll spend most of your time eating, drinking and chatting around the main lodge.
We also have a day spa for guests who need some pampering, and a tennis court for those who need more exercise. There’s no problem visiting both.
