HISTORY
Lord Howe Island was discovered in 1788, and was uninhabited until settlers arrived in 1833. Our family arrived in 1842, and have been on the land at Pinetrees since 1848. We’ve hosted guests for over 125 years through multiple generations.
HOST FAMILY
Pinetrees is run by the sixth generation of the original family – Dani Rourke (the daughter of Pixie and Ed Rourke) and her husband, Luke Hanson.
GUEST INFORMATION

TRAVELLING WITH KIDS
Pinetrees is the perfect destination for kids. They’ll swim, ride bikes, snorkel, build sandcastles, collect shells – all day long – and then return to the lodge exhausted, hungry and ready for bed.
LOCATION
We have the best location on Lord Howe Island. Our boatshed deck is on the waterfront, and the main lodge, rooms, cottages and gardens are about 70 metres behind Lagoon Beach in the shade and shelter of 100 year old Norfolk Island pines.
