With so many world-class activities on our doorstep it’s easy to forget that Lord Howe Island is perfect for relaxing. We have at least 12 beaches within a lazy 10‑minute bike ride of the lodge, and there’s always somewhere that’s sheltered and warm. We have easy strolls along the lagoon, and short flat walks through Kentia forests with enormous Banyan trees. You can take a picnic rug and lie in the shade of the forest for hours. The sound of the breeze in the leaves is hypnotic.
For the less adventurous, you don’t have to go beyond our boatshed deck on the lagoon, or any of our secluded garden decks within the Pinetrees grounds. They all have comfortable Adirondack chairs and cushions, and a cup of tea is 30 seconds away. You can return to the same spot after a massage in the Day Spa.
We discovered a few years ago, that on any given day, about 40% of our guests have a siesta around 3pm. We always thought it was quiet because everyone was at the beach or on a snorkelling trip, but alas, they had returned for a nap. It’s that kind of place.
