Sydney Morning Herald writer, Louise Southerden, joined our inaugural Ocean Swim Week with Trevor Hendy. She, like us, had no idea what to expect. We knew that we’d be swimming every day – that part was easy – but we didn’t know what would happen when you dropped 15 ‘ocean people’ together with the ‘ocean guru’ in a place like Lord Howe. Lou’s article captures the magic of the Trev experience. (And, the best part? Two years later, guests arrive for their swim week carrying Lou’s article in their wallet – it’s been there since the day they read it. There’s nothing more satisfying to a travel writer than knowing that their words stuck. Even in these days of online content and bookmarking, the fact that people will rip an article out of the paper and carry it around with them – just waiting to find the right person to show – says something about the quality of the writing).
