Our Under the Pines Rooms have 36 sqm of interior and exterior space with French doors, louvre windows, wool carpet and Blackbutt decks. Each room has a relaxed coastal style with local artwork by Ken Lees and a small library nook with a cosy snuggle couch. They have a luxurious king bed (or twin single beds on request) and a lovely en-suite. The covered outdoor deck faces east onto private subtropical gardens with multiple relaxation decks for some quiet time with your book. The rooms are sheltered under 100-year-old Norfolk Pines and are close to the main lodge via a level hardwood boardwalk – see our site map. We provide premium tea and coffee, plus some special treats on arrival. For a better feel for what to expect, watch the short video by film-maker Andy Lloyd.
Lord Howe Island is an exceptionally beautiful island. Pinetrees Lodge have very friendly staff.
I’ve been coming to Lord Howe Island since 1989 and Pinetrees Lodge since 1995. After 10 visits the island remains a place of great beauty where the relationship between nature and people is peaceful and respectful, and where one can rest and be recharged with ease. The stay at Pinetrees Lodge is part of that – comfortable, calm, good food, centrally located to all the delights of this beautiful place with friendly staff. Pinetrees has been upgraded but has retained its original simplicity and charm. Once you come here you won’t want to return.
Pinetrees Lodge is a fantastic place to stay. The staff very friendly and always wants to make your experience more enjoyable. We were her for a honeymoon and it was the best holiday. The food is amazing and the BBQ lunches that they provide is the best feature of Pinetrees including its quiet, central location. We will definitely stay again soon! Thank you!!!!
Pinetrees Lodge was lovely with co-operative, smiling, talkative staff. The food was first class, varied and innovative.
Lord Howe Island is unique. Location, old world charm, hospitality and food I would give all a 10/10!!! We loved that Lord Howe Island is being preserved and cherished, that a more gently approach to life has been maintained. We felt very comfortable at Pinetrees Lodge, well catered for and at home. Keep up the good (hard) work.
The hospitality and care everyone took to make sure we were looked after. The food was the highlight of our stay – you don’t expect to get 5 star meals on a far away little island but each day was a wait of anticipation as to what we were going to eat next!
Lord Howe Island is great for all ages with access to so many different activities catering for a range of capabilities and interests. The best part is you can find places of complete solitude yet within minutes be mixing with any number of fellow travellers. All of the islanders we met have been helpful and courteous without us ever feeling as though we were being “tourists”. Finally the thing that rounded out our holiday so completely was the Pinetrees experience which was so positively unique in every facet. Thank you so much!
