Our first few years on Lord Howe Island were chaotic. We had new careers, 30 staff, 85 guests, a toddler, a baby and a very old family business in transition from one generation to the next. Part of our ‘pressure relief valve’ was writing a blog about moving from Sydney to Lord Howe, with all of the highlights, surprises and culture shock. It didn’t matter if the posts weren’t read, it was just a way of coping. But it turns out that people were reading, because Dani was invited onto Mornings with Kerry Anne to talk about Lord Howe life on national TV.
